About Our Group

We are a group of bloggers from all across the globe who enjoy reading and writing about food. Our online book club has been running since August 2009.

Join Us!

If you would like to join The Kitchen Reader, please send an email to kitchenreader.blog@gmail.com and we will add you to the blogroll.  Please include your blog name and URL as well as your first name.  You must have a blog in order to participate.

Your review of the current book should be posted in the last week of the month, preferably on the last day of the month. We publish round-ups of everyone’s posts on the first of the following month.

It is requested that you participate monthly, however, we understand some subject matter may not be of interest to everyone.  If you go six months without participating in the group, we’ll send you an email confirming whether or not you wish to stay with the group. We hope that you find enough to interest you and keep participating!

Currently we are trialling a monthly video hangout. Read more here!

Books were initially chosen by polling members until March 2010. Starting in April 2010, individual members began choosing what books we read based on when they joined the group. We welcome your suggestions for future readings.  Please leave them in the comment section below or email us.

We thank you for the interest you have shown in our group, The Kitchen Reader.  We are looking forward to getting to know you!

  1. What a wonderful idea to have an on-line food related book club. As soon as I read my way out from under my current reading obligations, I’d like to join you. I’m not sure I can handle the pressure of reading and posting by the end of the month so even though I am reading Julie and Julia, I think I’ll finish it as an independent and join you officially next time.
